Great storytelling but some inconsistencies

We have listened to this Tonie many times and my 7-year old especially loves listening to it. The narration is exciting and well-voiced by the male and female narrators. While the Tonie description states it is based on the classic by L. Frank Baum, it seems the inspiration for this story appears to have come from multiple media. I have read the original book and seen the classic movie with Judy Garland. Clearly the designer of the Tonie figurine has only seen the movie as the original story has Dorothy wearing silver shoes, not ruby ones. Additionally the voice of the Cowardly Lion mimics that of the actor from the classic. The origin story of the Tin Woodman appears to be a mix of Wicked and Baum's story.
I am unsure why the Tonie story writers felt it was necessary to make Scarecrow androgynous when he is clearly described as male. It is a disturbing aspect to an otherwise well-created character.
Overall, as I said, we listen to the story and enjoy it, but the 3 stars are for the Scarecrow.
