It's a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you're ready are uniquely revealed as Greg records them in his diary.

In book one of this debut series, Greg is happy to have Rowley, his sidekick, along for the ride. But when Rowley's star starts to rise, Greg tries to use his best friend's newfound popularity to his own advantage, kicking off a chain of events that will test their friendship in hilarious fashion.

I bought this for my grandson who loves the Wimpy Kid books. It was a huge hit and may even be his favorite tonie

    Much too quiet

This tonie is too quiet to really hear unless you have the box right next to you and no one is making any other noise.

    Unclear Message

My 6-year-old daughter enjoys this book, but the protagonist is largely selfish and unkind. While I’m able to appreciate that is how kids tend to be in middle school, my daughter doesn’t, so I wonder if it’s just sending her the wrong message.

    Diary of a wimpy kid

My five-year-old loves all of the diary of a Wimpy kid movies. This Tonie has been a great alternative to screen time. I will say, this particular story is probably meant for kids who are a little bit older, maybe middle elementary school and up. There are a few things in the story that some parents might not believe our age appropriate, Like a reference to “hot girls” And I think the word stupid might be used here and there. If you’ve read the books and seen the movies and believe that to be appropriate for your child, then this Tonie stays right in line with the other stories.
